Designed for CNC routers, engraving machines and milling applications, this multi-directional touch probe provides a convenient way to detect workpiece edges, locate reference positions and establish machining coordinates.
Unlike conventional single-direction edge finders, this 3D touch probe detects contact from multiple directions across the X, Y and Z axes. This allows you to perform edge finding, centre finding and workpiece zero setting with greater convenience and repeatability.
With a specified repeatability of ≤0.01 mm at feed rates between 50 and 200 mm/min, the probe provides consistent contact detection for CNC positioning and setup operations.
The probe supports contact detection along all three principal machine axes:
X-axis: Detect workpiece edges and reference positions.
Y-axis: Locate side edges and establish workpiece alignment.
Z-axis: Set tool and workpiece height references.
This multi-directional functionality makes it useful for a variety of CNC setup procedures, reducing the need for separate probing tools for different measurement directions.
The probe features a stainless steel body fitted with a tungsten steel ball contact tip. The contact assembly is designed to provide a durable and consistent probing surface during repeated measurement operations.
With a specified repeatability of ≤0.01 mm under the stated operating conditions, it supports accurate and repeatable workpiece positioning.
The probe features a frosted black oxidised aluminium alloy housing with an anti-roll design.
The specially shaped exterior helps prevent the probe from unintentionally rolling across the machine bed or work surface when placed down between operations. Its compact construction also makes handling and storage convenient.
Built-in over-travel protection helps protect the internal mechanism if the probe is displaced beyond its normal triggering position.
The specified protection distances are:
X/Y axes: ±4 mm.
Z axis: 2 mm.
This additional movement allowance helps reduce the risk of damage caused by excessive probing movement. Appropriate probing speeds and machine travel limits should still be configured.
The probe uses a low-force triggering mechanism designed to detect contact without requiring substantial pressure against the workpiece.
Specified trigger forces:
X/Y axes: 0.5–0.82 N.
Z axis: 2.7 N.
This makes the probe suitable for a range of workpiece materials, including wood, plastics, resin and aluminium, when used with appropriate probing settings.
The probe operates from a DC power supply between 5V and 24V and uses a three-wire NPN normally-open (NPN-NO) output.
An integrated indicator light provides immediate visual feedback:
Green: Power supplied to the probe.
Red: Probe triggered.

Before installation, verify that your CNC controller supports a compatible NPN normally-open probing input and that the electrical wiring and voltage requirements match the probe.
Controller configuration may be required to recognise the probe's triggered state correctly. Compatibility depends on the controller's input circuitry and configuration.
